Brazil Iron's concern with the quality of life of the communities around Mina Mocó was highlighted in the international media. The ESMARTCITY portal, Spain's primary online communication vehicle for intelligent cities, praised the company for installing noise and air quality monitoring equipment.
The European vehicle publishes daily news, articles, interviews and videos with relevant and up-to-date information on smart solutions to essential issues in municipalities. "As part of its environmental and social responsibility strategy, and given the relative proximity of different populations to extraction points, Brazil Iron Mineração LTDA monitors the presence of particles and dust in the air to know the impact of mining activities on the quality of life of citizens," the website reported.
Around half a million reais were invested in this project, which should extend over the next two years. The first equipment was installed about two months ago.
